Symptom

When performing a Hyper-V VM backup, the following error message is displayed on the backup client interface, or in the backup report:

This issue will only affect Hyper-V VM with Hyper-V Replication enabled.

The error message displayed for AhsayOBM version pre-7.15.6.55 and 7.15.6.55 or above are different.

AhsayOBM Pre-v7.15.6.55:

Failed to backup virtual machine "guest_guid"., Reason = "A parameter cannot
be found that matches parameter name 'vmid'."

AhsayOBM v7.15.6.55 or above:

Failed to backup virtual machine "guest_guid"., Reason = "Failed to take VM   
snapshot. Error = [CreateVirtualSystemSnapshotV2] Error="The method call
failed." (32775)"

Cause

This issue can occur if the Hyper-V Replication is enabled for the virtual machine selected for backup.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, disable the replication for the virtual machine selected for backup. Click Here for instructions.
