Application aware VM backup

An application-aware VM backup will simplify and speed up the recovery process of Windows virtual machines, as there is no longer the need for an additional application-level backup and, subsequently, an application-level recovery to ensure data consistency.

During backups of Windows virtual machines on VMware and Hyper-V platforms, all data in memory and pending transactions on each virtual machine are automatically flushed to disk to guarantee a consistent data backup of the virtual machine and application data.
