This video provides step by step instructions on how to setup Seagate Lyve Cloud storage as a predefined destination on an AhsayCBS backup server.

  1. To create a predefined destination using Seagate Lyve Cloud, follow the steps below:

      1. Login to your AhsayCBS web management console.
      2. From the main interface of the console, under “System Settings”, click the Basic tile.
      3. Select the Predefined Destinations tab.
      4. Click the + button.
      5. Select the drop-down menu for the “Destination Storage” and click AWS S3 Compatible Cloud Storage.
      6. Rename the Predefined Destination (E.g. Seagate Lyve Cloud).
      7. Enter the “Host” and “Port”, as well as the “Access Key ID” and “Secret Access Key” of your Seagate Lyve Cloud account.
      8. Select a Signature Version.
        • Enter Signature Region, if applicable.
      9. Enter the bucket name (Make sure that the bucket has already been created).
      10. For this, enable connection with SSL.
      11. Click Test.
        • If successful, a dialogue box will appear indicating “OK”.
      12. Click the + button at the bottom.
      13. Then, click Save.

        Take note: Creating a predefined destination does not end here. Before being able to use your Seagate Lyve Cloud storage as a predefined destination, you have to make it visible to backup users first.

  2. To make predefined destination visible to backup users:

      1. Go to Users, Groups & Policies.
      2. Click the Policy Group tab.
      3. Select a policy group.
      4. Click the Backup Set Settings.
      5. Under the Predefined Destination, click the + button.
      6. Select the predefined destination that you created.
      7. Click the + button at the bottom of the page.
      8. Don’t forget to click Save.
  3. To create a File Backup Set on AhsayOBM using Seagate Lyve Cloud as a predefined destination, follow the steps below:

      1. Go to AhsayOBM. From the home screen, select Backup Sets.
      2. Click the + button to create a new backup set.
      3. Rename the backup set or use the default name provided, then click Next to proceed.
      4. Select a backup source, then click Next.
      5. Use the default schedule or create a new one, then click Next again.
      6. For the Destination, click the + button.
      7. Click the drop-down menu for Destination Storage, then select the Segate Lyve Cloud predefined destination you created.
      8. Click OK.
      9. Then, click Next.
      10. Keep “OpenDirect” on default, then click Next to continue.
      11. Same goes for Encryption. Click Next.
      12. Make sure that you keep a copy of your encryption key before clicking Confirm.
      13. Now that you have successfully created a backup set with the predefined destination, you may now start backing up your files to your Seagate Lyve Cloud account. Click Backup Now.
