How to backup PostgreSQL Databases on macOS?

Solution

Please use the following steps to backup PostgreSQL databases using AhsayOBM on macOS.

  1. From the dock of Mac running PostgreSQL, click the AhsayOBM icon.
  2. Enter your credentials to login.
  3. From the AhsayOBM home screen, select Backup Sets.
  4. Click the [+] sign to create a new backup set.
  5. Rename the file backup set or use the default name provided.
  6. Change the backup set type to PostgreSQL Backup.
  7. Enter the login ID, password.
  8. You may keep the Host and Port values on default or change it accordingly if your PostgreSQL database instance is setup using a different machine and/or port.
  9. Enter the path for pg_dump.
  10. Click Next to continue.
  11. Select the databases that you aim to backup, then click Next.
  12. Turn on scheduled backup and create backup schedule. Click Next.
  13. Select Concurrent as backup mode.
  14. Leave the maximum concurrent backup destinations on default.
  15. Then click the [+] sign to add a new storage destination. Ahsay Drive is selected by default.
  16. Click OK.
  17. Click Add to add another destination, then select a local/network destination.
  18. Click Next.
  19. Keep the default setting for Encryption. Click Save.
  20. Keep a copy of your encryption key. Click Confirm.
  21. You now have the option to backup your database files by clicking Backup Now.
  22. Or click Close and wait for AhsayOBM to backup your database files on the schedule you set it on.
